About Us
Pati’s Rum Cakes is a family-owned, woman-owned bakery born from a lifelong passion for cooking, baking, and sharing love through food. Founder Pati has spent most of her life in the restaurant industry, including as the owner of La Reserve Restaurant in the Borgata, Scottsdale, Arizona, and as the operator of a successful catering business.
Her journey into rum cakes began in 2000, when she started baking them as gifts for friends. The response was overwhelming—everyone wanted more. Her son, Scotty, was the one who encouraged her to take it further, saying, “Mom, start selling the cakes!”
In 2006, after Scotty’s passing, Pati turned his encouragement into a legacy. In his honor, she officially launched Pati’s Rum Cakes, naming the family LLC Mucho Take It Easy, after Scotty’s nickname. He believed in the magic of his mother’s cakes, often bringing them to “seal the deal” or simply to spread love—and it always worked.
Today, Pati’s Rum Cakes continues to grow under the loving guidance of Pati and her daughters, Kristi and Angela. Together, they handcraft every cake with care, carrying on a tradition that began as an act of love and continues as a heartfelt tribute to family.
