Job Summary: The Glass Polisher/Steward is responsible for maintaining the immaculate condition of all glassware, with a primary focus on wine and cocktail glasses, to ensure a fl awless presentation for our guests. This role is critical to the Guest experience, preventing water spots, streaks, and blemishes. The ideal candidate has meticulous attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and an understanding of the delicate nature of high-quality stemware.
Key Responsibilities:
Glass & Flatware Polishing:
● Meticulously inspect, polish, and buff all wine glasses, cocktail glasses, and water glasses to a streak-free, sparkling standard using steam and lint-free cloths.
● Prioritize polishing glassware required for upcoming service periods and special events.
● Handle expensive and delicate stemware with extreme care to prevent chips, cracks, or breakage.
● Flatware Washing and Maintenance:
● Assist with the careful sorting, washing, and sanitizing of all glassware, ensuring proper detergents and water temperatures are used to avoid etching or residue.
● Regularly inspect and maintain glass washing equipment to ensure optimal function and cleanliness.
Organization and Inventory:
● Organize and store all polished glassware in designated, clean, and dust-free areas.
● Monitor and report any damaged or low-stock glassware to management.
Support & Cleanliness:
● Assist the front-of-house team by ensuring a consistent and ample supply of polished glassware is available throughout service.
● Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the glassware storage areas and washing station.
● Breakdown family meal, set up Chef’s Table
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or catering setting.
● Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality presentation.
● Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
● Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant and event schedule.
● Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
● Familiarity with different types of wine stemware (e.g., Bordeaux, Burgundy, flute) and their proper care is a plus.
