A brand-new, fast-casual Mexican cantina is opening soon inside a renovated former Subway shop, and we’re looking for a hands-on, creative Chef to help bring this concept to life. This is a 22-seat, fast-casual/grab-and-go operation which operates as a coffee shop in the mornings (6–10 AM), offering the perfect opportunity for a culinary professional who’s ready to step into a leadership role. We see this as a partnership!
We are seeking a motivated, self-driven chef who is excited about building a menu, developing specials, and crafting a signature style for a new neighborhood cantina. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary foundations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced environment.
This is a unique opportunity for the right person to gain hands-on experience in running a restaurant, from menu costing and ordering to daily operations.
Lead all kitchen operations
Develop, test, and execute a fast-casual Mexican menu and daily/weekly specials
Maintain high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation
Manage inventory, ordering, prep lists, and kitchen cleanliness
Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
Collaborate directly with the owner on menu direction and business goals
Support a seamless guest experience in a small 22-seat environment
Culinary experience in Mexican cuisine or fast-casual operations preferred
Strong prep, cooking, and organizational skills
Creativity and passion for developing new menu items
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Reliable, efficient, and positive attitude
Interest in learning the business side of running a restaurant
Direct creative input on a brand-new concept
