Sweet Impastries is a European-inspired gluten-free bakery, bringing Barcelona’s bakery culture to Gilbert, AZ. In partnership with a successful international gluten-free bakery chain, we craft indulgent pastries and baked goods that offer all the beauty and flavor of traditional European patisserie — without compromise. We are looking for an experienced, passionate Bakery Manager to lead our flagship location and drive operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in building a premium bakery brand from the ground up, with growth potential as Sweet Impastries expands.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring seamless execution across customer service, production, and inventory management.
- Ensure all gluten-free baking and decorating standards are met, consistently delivering exceptional, high-quality products inspired by European and Barcelona traditions.
- Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Maintain proper operation of all bakery equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Monitor expenses and maintain accurate records, including daily logs, purchase reports, and sales data, contributing to profitability goals.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and lead bakery staff, fostering a positive workplace culture and motivating the team for high performance.
- Demonstrate effective leadership, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards, ensuring full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Implement and champion the company’s vision and mission, driving sales growth and customer loyalty.
- Support marketing initiatives and community engagement to grow local brand awareness and customer base.
- Flexibility to support both in-store bakery operations and centralized production for wholesale and ghost kitchen opportunities.
Experience / Skills & Physical Requirements:
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety qualification.
- Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of bakery production processes, inventory control, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Basic math skills and proficiency with bakery equipment, ordering software, and operational tools (e.g., pallet jacks, cleaning equipment).
- Ability to lift and maneuver items up to 50 lbs, perform repetitive movements, and stand for extended periods.
- High attention to detail and mental alertness to ensure accuracy and safety in all tasks.
- Flexible availability with reliable attendance — including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by bakery operations.
