A Note from the Executive Chef February 2020

Hello Everyone

As this is my first newsletter of 2020, I suppose a “Happy New Year” is in order, although long-overdue.  I hope this year is off to a great start for all of you.  Things are definitely buzzing around here.  The busy season is upon us, and we have job fairs/recruitment on campus nearly every day, and people calling left and right looking for qualified kitchen help.  If you are currently finding yourself without employment, please-please-please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  There are opportunities and we can help!  If you ARE employed, keep pushing and hang on tight!

Our next Open House is on Saturday, March 7th.  We have a special treat in store for you…an old friend, and a former instructor, is coming back, for one day only, to teach one of our most popular students classes.  Do you have any guesses?  I’ll give you some clues:  1) more historical culinary knowledge in his pinky finger than in my entire head, 2) often misunderstood, with a grumpy exterior, but a heart of gold, and 3) helped you develop your “thick skin” in Du Jour.  Yup.  You guessed it!  Chef Santos Villarico will be back to teach his popular sushi class.  If you’ve never taken it, it’s worth your time.  If you HAVE taken it, and you just miss Chef Santos, then come back and take it again!  Just call the school, or stop by, to sign up.

Not much else that I want to get into in this particular letter, so I’ll sign off.  If there is any way we can help you, please reach out and we’ll do the best we can.  We’re here for you!  Thanks for taking the time to read this.  See ya next time!
