Chef Dewitt may be the newest member of the ACI team, but she’s no beginner. She’s been baking professionally since she was a teenager, and has received numerous awards during her 17 years as a chef and an instructor. Some of her proudest teaching achievements include the highest honor in Retention Awards, six wins of the coveted Crystal Apple Award for teaching excellence, and recognition as a top twelve finalists for the 2004 Educator of the Year. Chef DeWitt also continues to be very active in the competition world. She has appeared on the Food Network Challenge five times and has competed on in four National Pastry Championships. Most recently she was awarded the title of ACF Pastry Chef of the Year for the Western Region.
